Women’s club announces art contest winners

DEXTER — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Dexter Women’s Literary Club held its annual Dexter Regional High School art show and contest at the Abbott Memorial Library March 29 through April 7. The winners were first place, Regan King; second, Rebecca Batron; third, Peyton Webber; and honorable mention artists were Kelly Bache and Myeongah “Jane” Yoon.

All the artwork was presented at the district meeting which was held April 8 in Pittsfield. At the district meeting, King came in second place and Webber came in third. Their artwork will go on to the state level for judging at the GFWC Maine spring convention May 11-12 in Bangor.

The GFWC Dexter Women’s Literary Club thanks Liz Breault, Jayne Lello and Hillary Langlais for judging the artwork at the Abbott Memorial Library. Also very special thanks to Marcy King, Dexter Regional High school art instructor, for encouraging the students with this project.
