Ribbon cutting for pool scoreboard March 24

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Friday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. Foxcroft Academy and the Piscataquis Regional YMCA invites the community to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new scoreboard and timing system at the PRYMCA pool. This puts an end to the “Time for Change” scoreboard campaign.
For years, the PRYMCA pool scoreboard did not work and it made timing swim meets very difficult (both for the Pony and PRYMCA swim teams). Over the summer, Foxcroft Academy started a campaign to raise $25,000, with all funds going to the purchase and installation of a new scoreboard and timing system.
All necessary funds were raised in three months and the scoreboard was installed in November, right before the high school swim season. The system was used for Foxcroft’s four home meets in 2016-17.
Donors will be thanked on March 24, and program speakers will include Arnold Shorey, Foxcroft Academy Head of School; Dr. Richard Swett, president of the board of trustees; Morgan Rublee, Pony swim team head coach; members of the PRYMCA board and more.
