Chadbourne comes in sixth in the 55 meters at state meet

LEWISTON — Foxcroft Academy senior Evan Chadbourne finished sixth in the 55 meters at the 2017 Class B indoor track and field championship on Feb. 18 at Bates College.
In the 55-meter finals Chadbourne ran a time of 6.94 seconds to come in sixth and pick up two points for the Ponies. Chadbourne earned a berth in the event finals after posting the sixth fastest time of 15 entrants in the preliminary competition at 6.88 seconds.
The two points scored by Chadbourne put Foxcroft in a tie with Nokomis Regional High School of Newport and Poland Regional High School for 24th place among 27 teams recording points on Saturday.
Chadbourne, the lone Foxcroft to take part at the state meet, also ran in the 200. He placed 16th in the event with a time of 25.02 seconds.
