ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy girls and boys indoor track and field teams each concluded the regular season with a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet on Feb. 4 at the University of Maine.
The Pony girls recorded 10 points to place fifth of nine teams.
Junior Jordan Thomas had the team’s top performance as she came in third in the mile with a time of 6 minutes, 47.21 seconds. Junior Virginia Macomber placed fifth at two miles in 19:28.88.
Foxcroft also had a pair of sixth-place performances. Freshman Sadie Avellar was sixth in the 800 at 3:12.60. She also ran the third leg of the sixth-place 4×200 relay team. Sophomore Sarasofia Stentardo, freshman Chyeanne Skomars, Avellar and freshman Mackenzie Harmon combined for a time of 2:14.04.
The Pony boys came in seventh of nine schools with a score of 17 points.
Senior Evan Chadbourne was the meet winner in the 55 meters. Chadbourne sprinted a time of 6.93 seconds to best the 7.10 seconds for runner-up Nick Canarr of Bangor High School.
Chadbourne also came third in the 200 with a time of 24.57 seconds.
The Pony 4×200 relay placed sixth at 2:03.93. Making up the squad was senior Caleb Buerger and freshmen Ethan Curtis, Cole Edgerly and Isaac Weymouth.
