My new perspective

To the Editor;
I moved here from the Left Coast otherwise known as the San Francisco Bay area. I didn’t participate in the Women’s March, the day after President Trump’s inauguration.
I’ve come to understand what I formerly held dear and true through a new set of lenses. I’ve learned to value the characteristics of folks I would have been opposed to just two and a half years ago. What bothers me is the invective and nasty tone each side uses with regard to the other.
I would hope during this presidency people of both sides can find something to value in their opponents. I know that we have common ground. Perhaps this moment in history is precisely to reach that common and higher ground. In order for that to happen there needs to be dialogue.
Oh, and I will definitely be marching next time.
