Conserving the Moosehead Lake region

To the Editor;
Good morning from the shores of beautiful Moosehead Lake on this mid-January morning, as I wait for first light to bring radiant sunshine to our glorious region we call home.
On behalf of the people in the state of Maine and those that come here to enjoy the great outdoors, I want to congratulate the Forest Society of Maine (FSM), Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) and the Open Space Institute (OSI) for acquiring 4,358 acres of forest land in Maine’s North Woods surrounding Silver Lake and 12 miles of the West Branch of the Pleasant River.
We all appreciate the time, effort and finances you’ve put into this project. Everyone will enjoy this acquisition. Thank you very much.
