CATCH OF THE OPENING DAY — Justin Limoges of Dexter caught this record breaking salmon Jan. 1 — the first day of ice fishing season — on Lake Wassookeag in Dexter. According to a Maine biologist at the lake, the fish was 24 inches long and weighed 4.29 pounds. The biologist said Limgoes’ catch is not a stock fish and is the biggest and best looking salmon ever caught and recorded at the site.
