QUARTER CENTURY AT THAYER PARKWAY — Phyllis Currier, center, is surrounded by sons, daughters, spouses and other family members at a recent luncheon to recognize her 25 years living at Thayer Parkway in Dover-Foxcroft.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Sept. 21 Phyllis Currier was honored at a luncheon at the Thayer Parkway housing complex for her 25 years of residency. In addition to other tenants who attended, family and friends of the honoree joined in as well. Flowers and a gift certificate were presented to Currier in appreciation of her longstanding residency.

Property Manager Suzanne Raymond stated she was pleased to add Currier’s name to the Thayer Parkway Hall of Fame plaque which is proudly displayed in the community room. Currier becomes the ninth resident to reach the 25-year milestone. Others names on the plaque are Corrine Petrie, Dorothy Greenlaw, Elizabeth F. Harvey, Della Cummings, Audrey Edgerly, Elvie Sargent, Jean Hanson and Francis Crommett.

The celebration concluded with Currier’s daughter Gloria Knowles singing “The Rose” to her mother.

 

The Dover-Foxcroft Housing Development Corporation has been providing senior housing at its present location for 42 years. Thayer Parkway was established under the leadership of its first president, Henry Gerrish, and continues to provide pleasant, safe affordable housing to its residents.
