FA open house and senior postgraduate information

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Wednesday, Sept. 7 Foxcroft Academy will host its annual fall open house at 6 p.m. The evening is a chance for all students and their families to see the school and get to know their teachers. In conjunction with the night, the guidance department will host its first annual postgraduate information evening for seniors and their parents/guardians. The purpose of the session is to get everyone on the same page in postgraduate planning.

“We thought it could be valuable for our parents and students to have questions answered from people in the know,” said Kandi Martin, school counselor at Foxcroft Academy. “We want our students to get applications and information to their respective schools on time and this might make the whole process a little less hectic during a very busy year.”

The schedule for the evening is as follows: 6-6:45 p.m. Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will present on the details of applying for financial aid (in the gym);

6:45-7:30 p.m admissions counselors from UMaine, Husson, Thomas, Bowdoin and EMCC will be on hand to answer questions about their schools;

7:30-8:15 p.m. — sessions with school counselors on applications, essays, deadlines and the overall ins and outs of the admissions process. The focus will be on a timeline to adhere to and Q&A sessions for parents and students.

While the event is geared to Foxcroft Academy seniors and their parents/guardians, all students are welcome to attend the information night. The open house is set to run from 6-7 p.m.
