A GIFT TO THE TOWN

A week after the entire study body posed outside in the formation of the numbers of 200 in honor of the Guilford Bicentennial, a picture of the scene was given to the town of Guilford by students in Peggy Cleaves’ fifth-grade class at Piscataquis Community Elementary School during the June 9 morning meeting.
Among the students speaking on the town’s history were Samantha Goodwin, left, and Anna Zimmerman as Guilford Town Manager Tom Goulette and Principal Anita Wright look on. “It’s going to hang in the town office for the next 200 years,” Goulette said upon receiving the gifted picture.
