Ponies’ Mikoud finishes as PVC discus runner-up

HAMPDEN — Foxcroft Academy junior Emily Mikoud placed second in the discus and third in the shot put to account for all 14 of her team’s points during the Penobscot Valley Conference Large School Championship on May 27 at Hampden Academy.

Mikoud had a top throw of 112 feet, 8 inches in the discus, trailing only the 118-07 of Hampden junior Daija Misler — who would earn Performer of the Meet honors after also winning the javelin and shot. Mikoud’s distance of 33-07.50 was good for third-place honors in the shot.

The Ponies finished eighth out of 10 teams with the 14 points.
