Black Fly Festival set for June 4

MILO — The Milo Events Committee invites everyone to join a day full of fun festivities at the 2016 Black Fly Festival on Saturday, June 4. This year’s theme is “Up on the Farm”.

A parade will begin at 10 a.m. starting in the area of Maine Savings and JSI and proceeding to the Penquis Valley School. Lineup will begin at 9:30. The day will feature a wide variety of vendors at the Veteran’s Memorial Park along the Sebec River, the Dan Baker Magic Show at noon and a live performance by “Elvis” at the gazebo from 2-4 p.m. There will be pony rides, kids’ crafts and the release of lanterns at dusk. In attendance will be newly-crowned Mrs. Maine America 2016 Jessica Chadwick Snowdeal, a Milo native who now resides in Sullivan. The Milo Fire Dept. will also host an open house from noon to 2 p.m. at the Milo Town Hall.
