Track and field results

The Foxcroft Academy boys scored 232 points, more than doubling runner-up John Bapst’s 107, to finish first out of six teams during a home meet on May 13. Helping the Ponies were 13 first-place finishes.

Hunter Smith picked up three individual victories. Smith had the day’s fastest time in the 110 hurdles at 16.40 seconds, and he won both the high and triple jumps at 6 feet. 4 inches and 41-06.50.

Nathaniel Church swept the 100 and 200 with respective times of 11.33 and 23.34 seconds.

Cooper Nelson took top honors in the 800 at 2:08.07 and the 1,600 at 4:49.24.

Tobias Hogfeldt ran a time of 54.31 seconds to win the 400, and finishing first in the 3,200 was Gabe Piquette at 10:43.47.

In the throws, Brandon Brock came in first in the shot put at 43-11 and Max Santagata had the top javelin heave at 136-02.

Foxcroft’s 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams turned in the top times of the meet. Evan Chadbourne, Church, Nelson and Hogfeldt ran the 4×100 in 46.76 seconds, and Hogfeldt, Zachary Caron, Nelson and Chadbourne won the 4×400 in 3:56.27.

Other Pony point-scorers were the 4×800 relay (Hunter Giacomuzzi, Ethan Poland, Liam Casey and Gabriel Chambers) third, at 10:37.93;

100: Evan Chadbourne, third at 11:75 seconds; and Smith, fourth at 11.90 seconds.

800: Piquette, third at 2:18.67.

200: Chadbourne, third at 25.12 seconds; and Hogfeldt, fourth at 25.67 seconds.

3200: Giacomuzzi, third at 13:38.91.

High jump: Caron, second at 5-08; Hyatt Smith, tied for third Hyatt Smith and Santagata at 5-06.

Long jump: Hyatt Smith, second at 17-06.50; Santagata, tied for third at 16-11.50; and Minh Phan, sixth at 15-10.50.

Triple jump: Caron, second at 39-02.50; and Hyatt Smith, fourth at 36-03.50.

Javelin: Brock, second at 127-04; and Jonathan LaBree, fifth at 110-08.

Discus: Brock, third at 97-07; Cody Strout, fourth at 90-06; and LaBree, fifth at 88-04.

Shot put: Strout, second at 38-07; and Connor Holmes, fifth at 34-02.

Pole vault: Caron, second at 10-06; and Hyatt Smith, third at 8-06.

The Dexter boys finished fourth at Dover-Foxcroft with 52 points.

Brandon Allen led the Tigers by finishing first in the long jump at 19-02.50. Allen was also third in the triple jump at 37-09 and he tied for third in the high jump at 5-06.

Jacob and Isaiah Hesseltine were second and third in the 400 with respective times of 1:01.31 and 1:02.25. Placing fifth in the event was Christopher Roderka at 1:26.10. Roderka also came in third in the 1,600 at 5:22.29 and he was fifth in the 800 at 2:28.97.

Sean Lockhart was fourth in the javelin at 120-05, and finishing fourth in the shot was Tanner Hall at 36-08.

PCHS came in fifth in the meet with eight points, as Devin Ronco finished second in the 110 hurdles at 21.83 seconds.

Greenville was sixth in the boys’ standings with four points.

Parker Richards came in fifth in the 200 at 26.04 seconds. He also was sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.45 seconds, and finishing sixth in the javelin was John Watt at 105 feet.

In the girls’ meet, the host Ponies were second of six teams with a score of 98 points.

Emily Mikoud had the top individual performances as she won both the discus and shot. Mikou threw the discus 105-10 and the shot 31-07. Mikoud was also third in the 100 at 13.87 seconds, and she ran the second leg of the second-place 4×100 relay. Emily Sprecher, Mikoud, Jacalyn Pelletier and Desirae Brawn combined for a time of exactly 58 seconds.

Jennifer Clawson came in second in the 3,200 at 13:22.62, and she anchored the second-place 4×400 relay as Renee Smith, Jordan Thomas, Pelletier and Clawson combined for a time of 5;13.11. Clawson was also third in the 800 at 2:51.22.

Avery Nelson added a second-place throw in the javelin at 68-08. Brawn and Smith were right behind in third and fourth place at 68-06 and 62-10 respectively and Sprecher was sixth at 59-04.

Other Pony point-scorers — in order of events — were 1600: Thomas, fourth in the 1,600 at 6:49.40.

200: Pelletier, fourth in the 200 at 31.54 seconds.

Long jump: Brawn, fifth at 12-09.

Discus: Nelson, fourth at 66-08; Smith, fifth at 63-07; and Abigail Henderson, sixth at 58-11.

Shot put: Brawn, third at 27-11.50.

Placing third at Foxcroft were the Dexter girls with 76 points.

Danielle Cummings came in first in the 200 with a time of 28.37 seconds, and finishing 2,3 in the event was Lily Cummings and Katie Batron with times of 30.44 and 31.32 seconds. Kira Swimm was fifth at 31.94 seconds.

The Tiger 4×100 had the day’s fastest time at 56.61 seconds, with this squad comprised of Batron, Danielle and Lily Cummings and Autumn Irwin.

Rebecca Batron finished second in the 100 hurdles at 21.73 seconds and Ashley Reynolds was the 400-meter runner-up at 1:17.96. Danielle Cummings placed second in the 100 at 13.59 seconds, Katie Batron was fourth at 14.02 seconds and sixth was Lily Cummings at 14.55 seconds.

Kaitlyn Paquin came in third in the discus at 70-09 and she was also sixth in the shot put 24-09.50. Rebecca Batron placed fourth in the shot at 26-02.50.

The girls from PCHS were fifth with 47 points.

Lexi Harris was the meet’s 100 hurdle winner at 20.09 seconds. Harris was also second in the 800 at 2:47.07, and she was fifth at 1,600 meters at 6:54.86. In the 4×100 relay Hannah Bagley, Cahrey and Lexi Harris and Bailey Lemieux were third at 1:02.92.

Haylee Patterson had the day’s top javelin throw at exactly 79 feet. She also was second in the shot at 28-06.50.

Lemieux placed fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:59.84, and she came in sixth in the 1,600 at 6:55.18.

Ava Henderson picked up Greenville’s six points, putting the Lakers in sixth place. Harris was third in the racewalk at 11:21.72.

On May 14, Penquis Valley traveled to Caribou where the boys finished ninth of a dozen schools with nine points.

Josh Martin was third in the javelin at 126-11 and he came in fifth in the long jump at 18-03.50. Finishing sixth in the event was Tyler Pardue at 17-06.50.

The Penquis girls picked up 31 points to finish seventh of nine teams.

Jordan Durant won the long jump at a distance of 14-08. She was also third in both the 100 and triple jump at 14.43 seconds and 30-08.

Kayla Harmon finished fourth in the javelin at 84-02, and Zoe Berry was sixth in the shot at 26-02.
