May Grange events

Thursday, May 5 Piscataquis Pomona Grange meets at Garland Grange. Potluck supper at 6 p.m. followed by meeting at 7. All area Granges are invited. For more information contact Bill Bemis at 924-4123.

Friday, May 6 at 4 p.m. Valley Grange is inviting volunteers to help with the spring yard cleanup. Helpers should bring rakes, shovels, etc. and plan for a couple of hours of raking, trimming, etc. Coffee and drinks will be available.. Saturday, May 7 Parkman Grange Mother’s Day Tea is from 10 a.m. until noon. Tea, punch, coffee, tea sandwiches and sweet treats will be served. Live entertainment, door prizes and time to visit with family and friends. Reservations appreciated, call Sue Manchester at 277-3942.

Friday, May 13 Garland Grange hosts a bean and pasta public supper from 5-7 p.m., proceeds to benefit Garland Grange. For more, call 924-6954. Family contra dance follows from 7-9 pm.

Friday, May 20 the public is invited to share in Valley Grange’s annual Community Night starting with a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. — if possible, bring a dish to share. Saturday, May 28 at 7 p.m. settle back in Wayside Grange’s red, cushy chairs for a night of the Delta, Ragtime, Louisiana, Zydeco, Cajun, Texas and Country Blues with the Old Blues Kats. America’s longest musical tradition is alive and well in the hands of David “DW” Gill on harmonica and vocals along with Doug Wainoris on guitar and vocals. T Doors open at 6:30..
