GREENVILLE — Elinor A. Peat, 83, wife of the late George H. Peat, passed away April 19, 2016, at her home. She was born June 7, 1932, in Greenville, the daughter of Bae and Martha (Roberts) Powers.  Elinor was very proud of her grandchildren and was always talking about them and their accomplishments. She enjoyed volunteering at the local church food cupboard and thrift store.

Elinor is survived by two sons, Kenneth Peat and his wife, Marlene, and Richard and his wife, Karen, all of Greenville; a daughter, Lee Ann McKay and her husband, Leonard, of CA; a brother, Bae Powers, of Greenville; a sister, Elizabeth Collins and her husband, Michael, Sr., of Greenville; eight grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Powers.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the Union Evangelical Church, Greenville.  In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial contribution be made to the Union Evangelical Church, P.O.
