District 3 President Jane Le Vie welcomed members and led the Club Collect and Pledge of Allegiance. She then introduced GFWC Maine President Marge Goodwin. She spoke about her time being president and what it meant to her and what the future holds for her. Goodwin is a native of Dover-Foxcroft

Presidents of clubs said what they had done during the year, providing ideas for other clubs. Clubs represented were Patawa of Bangor, Winterpor’s, the Dexter Literary Club, Arts Club of Pittsfield, Women’s Club of Newport and the GFWC/Miosac Club.

The first-place artwork was a bird perched on a girl’s hand, from Dexter Regional High School. The judge noted that the hand is very difficult to do and Leonardo spent years trying to perfect it. The artist included landscape.

Honorable mention went to a Foxcroft Academy piece. Third place was awarded to artwork from Nokomis, and the second prize was “Roses” from Foxcroft Academy.

Certificates were presented as were adult coloring books with drawings from members of the arts society.

Following the presentations members enjoyed a delicious lunch of soup sandwich makings, salad and dessert. Door prizes were drawn and three members of the Pittsfield Arts Club were winners.
