Webb receives Penquis Principal’s Award

MILO — Penquis Valley High School would like to announce that Jarod Webb of Milo has been selected to receive the 2016 Principal’s Award. This award sponsored by the Maine Principal’s Association, is given to a high school senior in recognition of their academic achievement and citizenship.

PRINCIPAL’S AWARD HONOREE Jarod Webb is the 2016 Principal’s Award recipient for Penquis Valley High School. Webb, right, is pictured with Principal Jeremy Bousquet.

Webb is an Honor Roll student and is ranked first academically in his class. He is respected among his peers and staff and a positive role model. Webb’s freshman year he was a class officer. He has been very active in Student Council holding the offices of president and parliamentary, as well as snack shack captain. Webb has been a four-year member of the Penquis Pep Band and he also works part-time for Three Rivers Hardware in Milo.

The son of Jack Webb of Milo, and Kay Webb of Milo, Webb plans to attend the University of Maine, majoring in Education.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard Tyler. McGowan and Tyler were former principals and executive directors of the Maine Principal’s Association.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 130 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the Maine Principal’s Association, the professional association that represents Maine’s school administrators.
