HJ Crosby Community Band Spring Fling Concert

By Rick Whitney

DEXTER — On Sunday, April 10 the Harold J Crosby Community Band of Dexter will be holding its fourth annual Spring Fling Concert at the Dexter Town Hall at 2 p.m. This free cabaret style concert is open to the public, where we will entertain you with a variety of musical pieces, from folk songs to show tunes to songs from World War I. As always, donations are graciously accepted. Joining us to celebrate spring will be the Dexter Brass and “special” guest performer Pedro.

We are always looking to expand our Crosby Band family. If you have ever considered joining the band, whether you’re a band member from high school or college days, or just have always wanted to play a musical instrument to part of a band, then the Crosby Community Band is in need of you. We can provide you with an instrument, if you need one, and the lessons to help you get those chops back in shape or to get you started on a rewarding experience as part of the Harold J Crosby Community Band of Dexter, making music as part of our band family. We’re not necessarily looking for someone with lots of talent; we’re just looking for someone like you who wants this opportunity to make music — again or for the first time. For more information, please talk to a band member or call Earl at 924-6235.

But whether you want to join the band or not, please join us at 2 p.m. at the Dexter Town Hall on April 10 for an hour of music by the Harold J Crosby Band and the Dexter Brass at our annual Spring Fling Concert.
