Samantha Ireland of Penobscot Valley led the North squad with a game-high 24 points, followed by Kelli Kennedy of Narraguagus with eight points. Jordynne Littlefield of Piscataquis Community High School was a member of the victorious North squad.

Three other all-star games, along with dunk and foul-shooting competitions, were also held.

In AA/AB boys play, the North won 97-91. Amir Moss of Portland and Hunter Smith of Foxcroft Academy led the North squad with 19 points each, while Andrew Fleming of Oxford Hills and Nicholas DePatsy of Medomak Valley each added 17.

Fleming scored a perfect 30 in the final round of the dunk contest to win over Smith and Cody Lawyerson of Valley. All three of the dunk finalists will be taking their talents to the University of Maine, in three different sports. Fleming will play basketball, Smith will be joining the Black Bear football team and Lawyerson is a Maine baseball recruit.

Net proceeds from the All-Star Games benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine. Last year’s All-Star Weekend raised more than $32,000.00 for the charities. More information is available at www.rmhcmaine.org.
