EFFORT, PA – Luceill M. Hadesty, 96, passed away Saturday, March 5, at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort. She was born in West Orange, NJ, on February 25, 1920, daughter of the late Harry and Johanna (Bodfish) Merrill.

Luceill was the wife of the late James H. Hadesty who passed away on December 4, 2012. She had worked as an Information Operator for Verizon in East Orange, NJ, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

We have been blessed with the presence of Luceill in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her son, Leroy Gearl and wife, Elaine of Effort; two grandchildren, James Gearl and wife, Krysta of Florida, and Christopher Gearl and wife, Valerie of Effort; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra Gearl of Florida, and Emilee Gearl of Effort.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 10, at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, with Rev. Sharon Ladd officiating. Family and friends were welcomed to offer their condolences on Thursday, March 10, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Pleasantdale Cemetery in West Orange, NJ, at the convenience of the family.
