Sen. Davis announces transportation projects

AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) has released its three-year work plan for 2016-18. Sen. Paul Davis (R-Piscataquis) is pleased to announce that many infrastructure improvements are slated for the region he represents in the Legislature.

The work plan is calendar year-based and includes all MDOT work activities. Projects and activities listed for 2016 are more firmly funded and tied to definite schedules, while those for 2017 and 2018 may be more subject to change, according to MDOT. Among the scheduled projects are improvements for Route 11, Route 6, Route 7 and Route 15. The Greenville Municipal Airport is slated for safety and infrastructure improvements, and several bridges throughout Piscataquis County will be repaired.

“Upkeep and repair of Maine’s transportation infrastructure is an essential function of our government,” Davis said. “I’m pleased that our region will see dozens of projects over the course of the next three years.”

Paving, drainage maintenance, and bridge repairs are among the types of work that will be undertaken. More details about the projects are available at http://www.maine.gov/mdot/projects/workplan/.
