The Foxcroft Academy wrestling team finished in first place at the 2016 Penobscot Valley Conference Championship on Jan. 30 at Ellsworth High School. Ten Ponies finished in the top three in their respective weight classes and five recorded victories in the championship finals to help the team tally 171 points, 25 more than runner-up Ellsworth.

All three of the area’s wrestling squads had strong showings on Saturday, with Dexter Regional High School finishing in third place and Piscataquis Community High School coming in fifth.
