Pine Tree Hospice volunteer training starting soon

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Life is time. Time to work. Time for family. Time to sleep. Time to eat. We all have 24 hours a day (168 hours a week), but there never seems to be enough time. As Dr. Seuss wrote, “How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

We humans usually make time for the essentials of life: work, sleep, food, family obligations. Some make time for more: time to care, time to give back, time for compassion, time for service. This is time well spent. Time that enriches what may otherwise be an ordinary life.

Pine Tree Hospice realizes the importance of time spent on compassionate service. A volunteer training will be offered beginning on March 8. Would you consider giving a few hours a month of your time to help another person whose time is limited? Some things volunteers do include playing cards, fishing, reading, talking, going for a ride or looking at photos. Give the gift of time, be a hospice volunteer.
