Sawyer joins GrowSmart Maine

PO SAWYERMUG 4 16 16867391PORTLAND — GrowSmart Maine is pleased to announce the addition of Janet Sawyer of Dover-Foxcroft as business development director and the transition of Andrew Zarro from development director to community engagement director.

“With these changes,” says Executive Director Nancy Smith. “We are better able to support communities across Maine, building on the unique strengths of each of our team members.”

Sawyer will build relationships with the many businesses across Maine that support and benefit from the mission and work of the organization. Sawyer worked as business development director for the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council, owned her own small business and managed outside sales for a Maine-based office products distributor.

She grew up in Corinth and left Maine to earn her undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., but came back home as soon as she could. Sawyer lives with her husband, Dwain Allen, and their pampered dog, Libby, in Dover-Foxcroft where she is very active in the community. She is proud and delighted to work for an organization whose mission compliments her core beliefs.
