FA indoor track results

ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy boys finished fourth out of seven teams during a Jan. 23 Eastern Maine Indoor Track League/Penobscot Valley Conference meet at the University of Maine. The Ponies finished with a score of 71 points.

Foxcroft’s 4×200 relay squad had the fastest time of the day in 1 minute, 40.06 seconds. Making up the team was senior Nathaniel Church, junior Jason Eubanks, sophomore Tobias Hogfelt and senior Cooper Nelson.

Three relay team members also had second-place performances. Church was the 200 runner-up at 24.36 seconds and Hogfeldt came in the second in the 800 at 2:08.54. Nelson had the second fastest times in both the mile and two-mile, with respective times of 4:42.20 and 10:47.14.

Church placed third in the 55 at 6.84 seconds and right behind was junior Evan Chadbourne in fifth place at 7.20 seconds and Eubanks in sixth place at 7.22 seconds. Eubanks came in third in the 200 at 24.93 seconds with Chadbourne in fifth place at 25.29 seconds and senior Blaine Robinson coming in sixth at 25.59 seconds.

Junior Riley Poisson added a fourth-place performance in the triple jump at 35 feet, 2.25 inches. Senior Paul Birtwistle came in fifth in the 400 with a time of 57.48 seconds. Senior Gabe Piquette came in fifth in the mile at 5:02.66 and he also was sixth at two miles with a time of 11:48.83.

Rounding out the scoring for the Ponies was the 4×800 relay team. Birtwistle, junior Ethan Poland, senior Joon Yeob Kim and junior Duncan Smith combined for a time of 10:45.52.

In the girls’ meet, Foxcroft placed sixth of seven schools with a score of 16 points.

Sophomore Jordan Thomas came in third in the mile with a time of 6:40.20. Freshman Daniela Zhang-Parade was fifth in the race at 7:41.44 and coming in sixth was sophomore Virginia Macomber at 7:49.94.

The 4×200 relay squad, made up of juniors Erika Chadbourne and Emily Sprecher, freshman Hannah Sprecher and senior Desirae Brawn, placed fourth at 2:07.79.

Foxcroft also had points in the two-mile. Senior Alice Russo came in fifth in the race at 16:14.30, and Macomber placed sixth at 17:10.02.
