Dec. 28— Foxcroft boys basketball defeated Houlton, 59-52, on the road. Drew Dankert recorded 17 points to lead Foxcroft. Dylan Harmon-Weeks added 12 points for the winners while Jeremy Richard chipped in 11.

Foxcroft girls basketball lost at Houlton, 53-41. The Ponies were led by Grace Bickford’s 15 points and Abbi Bourget chipped in nine.

PCHS girls basketball lost to Central, 44-32 at home. Delani Bennett, senior center, scored 10 points and blocked four shots for the Pirates and freshman Alivia Hunt came off the bench to contribute six points. Another reserve, sophomore Lexi Harris, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Dexter wrestling team placed first at Mid Maine Tournament (Mt. View-Thorndike) with 149 points over Bucksport, Caribou, Cony, Madison, MCI, Medomak, Morse, Mt. Blue and Oceanside. In the championship round, Tiger Tyler Beem lost by decision to Steven Thompson, Medomak in the 138-pound division; Medomak’s Elias Miller pinned Isaiah Hesseltine of Dexter in 145; Morse’s Hunter Reed pinned Bryce Sweet of Dexter in 160; Dallas Ball of Oceanside pinned Dexter’s Jacob Hesseltine in 170; Daniel Wallace of Dexter pinned Jon Boardman, Madison, in 182; Max Storey of Cony won by major decision over Dexter’s David Kirshkain in 220; and Oceanside’s Thomas Curtis pinned Tanner Hall of Dexter in 285-pound final. In the consolation round, Caleb Weeks of Dexter pinned Tyler Baker of MCI in 106-pound division; and Bryce Salsbury of Dexter pinned Brody Boynton of Bucksport in 152.

Dec. 23— PCHS boys basketball lost at Central 67-46. The Ponies were paced by Drew Dankert with 18 points, all on 3-pointers. Noah Allen and Hunter Smith joined him in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Greenville boys basketball beat Katahdin, 49-31, at home. The Lakers’ Nick Foley and Tim White led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points and Noah Pratt added 10 points.

Dexter girls basketball defeated Stearns, 44-29, at home. Megan Peach scored 18 points to pace the Tigers to the win.

Greenville girls basketball lost to Katahdin, 48-16, at home. No statistics were reported.

Penquis girls basketball lost at home to George Stevens, 66-39. Jazmyn Gray led the Patriots with nine points while Megan Valvo and Jordan Durant each had eight.

Dec. 22— Dexter boys basketball won, 46-27, at Stearns. Jason Campbell led the Tigers with 14 points while Brayden Miller and Zach White each added nine points and William Strauch had eight.

Greenville boys basketball lost, 64-44, at Valley. The Lakers were led by Nick Foley with 15 points. Tim White added seven points.

PCHS boys basketball defeated Penobscot Valley, 55-33, at Howland. Bryce Gilbert scored a game-high 22 points while Ben Morrill had nine points and Dillon Drew had eight.

Penquis boys basketball lost to George Stevens Academy, 70-39, at Blue Hill. Clayton Treble scored 12 points.

Foxcroft girls basketball defeated Orono, 48-35, on the road. Abby Simpson led three players in double figures, scoring a game-high 17 points while Grace Bickford and Madison Chadbourne each contributed 12 points.

Greenville girls basketball lost to Valley, 50-18, at  Bingham. Emily Vraux tallied eight points to pace the Laker girls.

Dec. 21— Dexter girls basketball defeated  Bucksport, 46-31, on the road. Katie Batron and Megan Peach led all scorers with 17 points each.

 

Penquis girls basketball lost to PCHS, 54-30, at home. Delani Bennett led all scorers with 16 points and Haylee Patterson had 15 to lead Piscataquis Community. For the Patriots, Megan Valvo tallied nine points.
