Plum Creek donates to food banks

BINGHAM — For the sixth year in a row, a donation by Plum Creek will help local food banks meet their ongoing needs during the holiday season.

The company is presenting a total of $14,750 to 13 community food banks that serve Maine: Bingham Area Food Pantry ($2,500); Greater Waterville Area Food Bank ($500); Guilford Economic Partnership ($500); Living Word Community Food Cupboard ($1,000); Moosehead Associates Food Cupboard ($3,000); Skowhegan Community Food Cupboard ($1,000); St. John’s Food Pantry ($500); The Conservative Baptist Association of New England, Inc. ($500); Our Lady of the Snows and Saint Agnes Parishes ($500); Town of Eustis ($1,000); Town of Jackman ($3,000); United Methodist Church, Oakland ($250); and United Methodist Economic Ministry ($500).

“It is a Plum Creek tradition to support local food banks in Maine through donations and volunteerism, especially around the holidays,” said Scott Henker, vice president, Northern Hardwood Region, Plum Creek.

“The food banks are a vital resource to those struggling to make ends meet, and we are happy to support this critical mission. These donations will help feed those in need and hopefully provide a happier holiday for members of our community.”
