December Grange events

 

Thursday, Dec. 3 Piscataquis Pomona Grange meets at the South Sangerville Grange for the annual Christmas program. The potluck supper is at 6 p.m. and program is at 7. All area Grangers are invited, optional gift exchange with a suggested $10 limit. Please bring donations for the Dover Foxcroft Area Food Cupboard. The South Sangerville Grange is located off the Silvers Mills Road. Call Bill Bemis at 924-3537 for more information.

Friday, Dec. 4 Valley Grange meets for the annual fellowship “breakfast for supper” at 6 p.m. Bring a breakfast dish to share; all are invited. There will be an optional gift exchange and brief Christmas program at 7. The Valley Grange is located at 272 Guilford Center Road in Guilford. Friday, Dec. 11 Garland Grange hosts a chicken pie public supper from 5-7 p.m. Menu includes chicken pie, locally grown vegetables, homemade bread and desserts. Proceeds to benefit Garland Grange, located on the Oliver Hill Road in Garland.

Dec. 11 there will be a family contra dance from 7-9 p.m. at the Garland Grange Hall. Family friendly music for all ages, and all dances are taught. Caller is John McIntire and live music by Some Reel People. For more information, please call 277-3961 or 924-3925.

Saturday, Dec. 12 Santa is coming to Parkman Grange, setting up his workshop and bringing lots of fun. In the spirit of Christmas and giving, Santa’s workshop will give each child the opportunity to make many different gifts for their family and friends. Santa will be giving out gifts, including a picture with him. Cookies, hot chocolate and spiced cider will be served. The workshop will be open from 1-3:30 p.m. at the Parkman Grange located at the four corners. This party is free to all who believe, like Grange members do, that giving brings great joy.
