Moose on the Run

GREENVILLE — The Camden National Bank Moose on the Run 5K race/walk and 1K Fun Run will be taking place on Sunday, Oct. 11. The race, sponsored by Camden National Bank and presented by the Piscataquis Regional YMCA, is in its 14th year and it promises to be better than ever.

“We’re happy to have the race begin and end at C.A. Dean Hospital again this year,” said Patrick Myers, who is organizing the race for the Piscataquis Regional YMCA. “It is wonderful that the hospital opens its doors for the race. We’re so lucky to have Camden National Bank and C.A. Dean Hospital as our partners in supporting a healthy community. “

The 1K Fun Run for kids 12 and under will start at 9:30 a.m. The 5K will begin with the walkers leaving at 10 a.m. and then the runners will leave at 10:30 a.m. Again this year, all the proceeds from the race will go towards YMCA scholarships and programs for Moosehead-area residents.

“We want the people and businesses in the Moosehead area to know that when they support Moose on the Run they are also supporting their community,” Myers said.

Registrants will receive a commemorative shirt. Participants will also receive a goody bag filled with treats and be eligible to win prizes donated by local businesses. In Greenville, the public can pick up registration forms at Camden National Bank. Forms are also available at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA in Dover-Foxcroft, by calling the Y at 564-7111 or at www.prymca.org.
