Road race news

Rico Portalatin, 44, of Milo, came in eighth out of a field of 365 in the 38th annual Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Half Marathon on Sept. 19. Portalatin covered the 13.1 miles in a time of 1 hour, 24 minutes and 1 second.

Eight runners from the region took part in the Susan B. Koman Race for the Cure 5K on Sept. 20 in Bangor. Heather Gudroe, 37, of Dexter, placed 53rd out of 293 runners in a time of 25 minutes, 5 seconds.

 

The other seven were Jason Hardy, 37, of Exeter, 70th at 25:58; Kristy Fogler, 37, of Exeter, 73rd at 26:09; Marcy King, 43, of Dexter, 80th at 26:22; Tracy Glidden, 50, of Dexter, 88th at 26:49; Jacob Landry, of Brownville, 134th at 28:56; Jennifer LaChance, 46, of Harmony, 185th at 32:58; and Kathy Doore, 58, of Charleston, 293rd at 55:46.
