FA runs at Old Town

OLD TOWN — The Foxcroft Academy cross country team took part in the 66th Old Town Sectional Invitational on Sept. 26. The Pony boys finished with a score of 124 points to place fifth out of nine teams.

Senior Gabe Piquette was the first Foxcroft runner to cross the finish line. Piquette placed 14th in a field of 70 entrants, covering the 3.1 miles in a time of 17 minutes, 34.59 seconds. Senior Cooper Nelson was not far behind, placing 18th at 17:49.51.

Rounding out the Foxcroft top five scoring positions was junior Liam Casey, 34th at 18:55.94; senior Paul Birtwistle, 39th at 19:19.54; and senior Hunter Giacomuzzi, 44th at 19:42.57. Also running were freshman Nicholas Daneman and sophomore Kazu Kawashima, 51st and 55th with respective times of 20:21.40 and 20:55.09.

The Foxcroft girls placed seventh out of nine teams with a score of 159 points. Senior Jen Clawson led the Ponies by coming in eighth out of 58 runners, covering the course in a time of 20:18.10.

 

Next to to cross the finish line was sophomore Jenna Clukey, who placed 28th at 22:10.28. Senior Alice Russo followed in 41st place at 24:25.41, junior Erika Chadbourne came in 44th at 24:50.31 and rounding out the scoring positions was junior Sujeong Kim in 52nd place at 26:25.58. Sophomore Virginia Macomber came in 53rd with a time of 26:26.89.
