In the 35th annual Maine Sprint Triathlon in Camden on Sept. 6, John Chase, 60 of Monson, was fourth in a field of 36 entrants. Chase swam the half mile, biked 27 miles and ran 6.6 miles in a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes and 35 seconds. Chase was the first finisher in the men’s 60-69 age group.
Alyssa Ballestro, 28 of Greenville, finished 59th out of 126 during the Free Half-Marathon on Sept. 6. Ballestro covered the 13.1 miles in 2:02.35.3.
On Sept. 7 John Lemieux, 70, of Sangerville ran in the Bangor Labor Day Road Race. Lemieux was 44th out of 126, covering the five miles in 38:40. Lemieux was the fastest runner in the men’s 70-plus age group.
