Daughters of Union Veterans hosting Civil War author
GUILFORD — The Sarah Elizabeth Palmer, Tent #23, Daughters of Union Veterans will be hosting author David Cook on Sept. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Valley Grange. Cook is currently writing a book on the 3rd Maine Infantry who fought in the Civil War and included many men from Piscataquis County.
Cook is a former history teacher at Winthrop High School, U.S. Army 101st Airborne veteran and author of “Above The Gravel Bar, Indian Canoe Routes of Maine”.
