‘Every Hero Has A Story’ at children’s summer reading program

SANGERVILLE — The Sangerville Public Library held its end of the summer reading program in the Community Room of the Sangerville Town Hall on Aug. 7 — this summer’s theme was “Every Hero Has A Story”. Fifteen children ages 5-12 participated in the program and they read a total of 220 books.

BUSY READERSReading the most books in the Sangerville Public Library’s summer reading program was Ryker Olson, left and the age 5-8 winner, and Kendall Kimball, who lead in the 9-12 age group.

 

All children received certificates of participation and two free books, and drawings were held for the grand prizes.  In the age 5-8 category the winner was Ryker Olson who read 40 books. Olson won a Leap Frog Leapster GS.  

The 9-12 winner was Kendall Kimball who read 20 books. Kimball won a Dragon Touch Tablet Y88X.

The library wishes to thank and acknowledge the Rose and Samuel Rudman Fund of the Maine Community Foundation for the grant of $600 which allowed for the purchase new books for the summer program theme of  “Every Hero Has A Story.”
