MILO — We had a successful five week summer reading program. Thirty-nine children signed up and participated.  The number of books read between independent and family readers totaled 751 books. We had a fun party downstairs in the library on the last Friday of the program with balloons, drawings, drinks and Elaine’s Bakery goodies. Congratulations to all the children who participated. The message from us is to keep on reading!

We wish to thank the weekly Wednesday afternoon readers (the kids loved it). Also, thank you Maine  Community Foundation for the grant to purchase books for the program.

Kathy’s July/August theme pick is “Time to Hit the Beach”. This display features a variety of authors and titles that relate to beach stories of mystery, romance and suspense. It is, after all, that time of year.

Ongoing book sale, there have been many more books added to our books for sale. Paperbacks are still 10 cents and hardbacks are 25 cents each or five for a $1. Who can beat that price?

Questions, call 943-2612 or e-mail us at milolibrary@trcmaine.org. Summer hours are in effect Monday, Wednesday and Friday1-7 p.m.
