Road race news
A half dozen runners from the region took part in the 18th annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K on Aug. 1 in Cape Elizabeth.
John Lemieux, 70 of Sangerville, finished 902nd out of a field of 6,595 competitors, running the 6.2 miles in a time of 46 minutes, 46 seconds. Lemieux came in second of 34 runners in the men’s 70-74 age division.
Heather Gudroe, 37 of Dexter, placed 1,448th with a time of 50:11. Soon after Danielle Vafiades, 32 of Dexter, crossed the finish line in 50:26 to place 1,482nd.
Other runners were Tracy Glidden, 49 of Dexter, who was 3,535th at 59:37; Emily Chadborune, 33 of Sangerville, 4,412th at 1:03.45; and Sean Leland, 12 of Sangerville, 4,970th at 1:07.12.
