CURTIN, Hazel Bernice Curran, 96, Maine, Connecticut and Wisconsin, July 2, 2015. Arrangements are under the care of Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, Texas.
Hazel Bernice Curran Curtin, age 96, passed away on July 2, 2015. Hazel was born on September 15, 1918, in Milo, Maine. She earned her B.S. in nutrition from the University of Maine in 1939. Hazel married Timothy Curtin in 1942, and they subsequently lived in Connecticut and Wisconsin. She worked in Madison as a dietician for the University of Wisconsin Hospital for 16 years. Hazel retired in 1981 and moved to Austin. After Tim’s death in 2000, Hazel moved to Englewood Estates.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara Curtin Marquardt and Thomas P. Marquardt, Timothy Curtin and Nancy Martinez-Curtin, Mary and Elvia Curtin Bordes, and Patty McLeod and Gerald McLeod, Sr.; her grandchildren, Timothy, Daniel, and Patrick Marquardt and his wife, Blair, Nicolas Curtin, Rafael Osorio, Moria Moore, Christopher Rydberg, Adrienne Noryian, and Gerald McLeod, Jr., and his wife, Donna; her great-grandchildren, Hannah Marquardt, Elijah Moore, Gerald McLeod III, Matthew McLeod, and Alexis Driscoll; and her siblings, Mary Fullerton, Betty Ardini, Pat Perkins, Robert Curran, and Jacqueline and Josephine Curran.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, William Curran, Alice McDonough, Helen Martell, and John Curran.
Visitation were held on Monday, July 6, at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas. Her funeral service were held the following day at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church.
