4-H provides health care learning opportunity

GREENVILLE — 4-H Adventures in Health Science will provide boys and girls ages 12-18 the opportunity to learn about careers in the field of health care through direct interaction with medical professionals at C. A. Dean Memorial Hospital this summer. The program is scheduled for July 17,18  and 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

Doctor Robert Bowie, MD will lead the exploration of emergency medicine and the nervous system.  Students will learn about pre-hospital response, emergency medical technicians and paramedics, the hospital emergency room, head trauma, diseases of the nervous system, and more.  The hands-on activities will be fun as well as educational.

Participants will become fully enrolled 4-H members. They will be eligible to participate in all 4-H activities at the local, state, and national levels throughout the year.
