DEXTER — This summer take a walk through your movie memory with the Harold J. Crosby Community Band of Dexter’s 2015 Summer Concert Series.

This summer the band will be playing music from the movies and television, from Disney’s “Bare Necessities” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” to “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Star Trek,” “E.T.” and “Shrek.”

They’ll also be digging back into movie archives with “Dragnet,” “Rocky,” “Eye of the Tiger” and James Bond classics. Band members will be rounding out the program with some patriotic tunes, some songs from days gone by, and, to honor their namesake, an H.J. Crosby march “Dress Parade.”

The Crosby Communty Band will be hitting the road soon and heading to a area towns in the weeks to come: Guilford, June 30; Monson, July 7; St. Albans, July 11; Corinna, July 21; Dexter, July 28 and Aug. 1; Greenville Junction, Aug. 15; and the Summer Series finale in Garland, Sept. 12.

All these outdoor concerts are free, so grab a blanket and a lawn chair and join the band this summer as they journey through the music and movies they grew up with.

You’ll leave with a smile on your face and a song in your voice.
