PVC JV track results

BREWER – Athletes from area schools were among those taking part in the Penobscot Valley Conference Junior Varsity Track and Field Championship May 27 at the Brewer Community School.

Dexter Regional High School sophomore Zachary White had the day’s fastest time in the 100 at 12.41 seconds. He also was third in the 400 with a time of 59.66 seconds. Tiger sophomores Jacob Hesseltine and Sean Lockhart, freshman Tyler Beem and White combined for a time of 4:17.37 in the 4×400 relay to place third.

Junior Xinghan Gong of Foxcroft Academy was the winner in the 300 hurdles at 52.12 seconds. He also came in second in the 100 at 12.59 seconds.

Also finishing in the top five was Foxcroft sophomore Liam Casey, fourth in the 1,600 at 5:19.27, and Lockhart who was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 106 feet, 4 inches.

Penquis Valley High School sophomore Haley Morel came in first in the girls’ shot put with a throw of 25-10.75.

Sophomore Catherine Rocha of Piscataquis Community High School had the second fastest time in the 100 hurdles, 22.58 seconds. Foxcroft freshman Avery Nelson’s javelin throw of 72-10 was good for second place.

Coming in third in the shot put was Foxcroft junior Renee Smith at a distance of 24-06.50. The Dexter 4×100 squad, comprised of sophomores Morgann Wyman and Cidney Pratt, freshman Hayley Rossman and sophomore Hannah Farrar, placed fourth at 1:01.52. Fifth in the 100 hurdles was sophomore Camille Bozzelli of Foxcroft at 22.90 seconds.
