MHFCU will be ‘Caring For Community’
The employees of Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union in Dexter, Guilford, Dover-Foxcroft, Greenville and Brownville care for their communities. Beginning July 3, they will designate two Fridays each month as “Caring For Community” days. Employees will pay $3 each for the privilege of dressing casual for the day and all funds will directly benefit a local nonprofit that gives back to the communities in the area. With a little over 40 employees, these contributions will add up to approximately $120 to be distributed locally every other week.
On the remaining Fridays of each month, the credit union has already designated $3 dress-casual days to benefit Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign For Ending Hunger and for CULAC (Credit Union Legislative Action Council).
“So, when you see our employees dressed casually, you will know it is for a good cause,” stated Rhonda Taylor, president and CEO. Donation buckets will also be available for any member who wishes to contribute to the local non-profit of the week.
Local nonprofits wishing to be considered for the list of those to receive a contribution, should feel free to reach out to any one of the five offices (local food programs will not be included o since one day each month is already dedicated to this group).
