DEPOT DONATION — The Moosehead Lake Sportsmen’s Association recently presented the Greenville Junction Depot Friends a check from funds raised at the association’s March fishing derby. The money will go toward the ongoing restoration of the historic depot. Pictured, from left, are Amy Lane, Shana Cirulli, Hannah Pratt and Alison Snell, representing the Moosehead Lake Sportsmen’s Association; and Toby Baird and Cheri Goodspeed, Greenville Junction Depot Friends board members.
Chris Buchanan presided as facilitator. She is Maine coordinator of Defending Water for Life in Maine and statewide coordinator of the Stop the East-West Corridor with none of these positions influencing her role as facilitator.
The Visioning Group for Sangerville’s Future, as one possible name for the steering committee, emphasized that everyone is invited to attend any or all of the meetings.
The goal of the meetings is to develop a town-approved five year plan for Sangerville’s future to guide the board of selectmen, town advisory committees and the Town budget.
The group decided to ask the residents of Sangerville to let the group know what assets the town has that they value the most. The group developed a preliminary list with residents to be polled for their priorities and what other town assets to preserve.
This collective consensus will be used to ensure that these assets are preserved and strengthened in any five year plan.
The next meeting of the group will be on Wednesday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the town hall community room.
