Moose Mainea returns to Greenville May 16

GREENVILLE — Moose Mainea, a day set aside to celebrate Maine’s largest game animal and the Moosehead Lake region’s many attractions, is set for Saturday, May 16 at Greenville Consolidated School from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Admission is free to all the exhibits, both inside the gymnasium and on the school grounds.
A Maine guide showcase will include exhibits on wildlife calls, sled dogs, fly casting and whitewater rafting.
There will also be equipment from the Maine Forestry Service, C.A. Dean EMS and the Greenville fire and police departments on display along with the Maine Warden Service’s traveling Wall of Shame. This 36-foot trailer is full of mounted fish and wildlife poached by thieves and is designed to educate the public on preserving Maine’s natural resources.
Friends of Moosehead Lake will host a super-fun kids’ zone and a skillet-throwing contest.
Moose Mainea’s sponsors this year are Indian Hill Trading Post, Burnt Jacket at Moosehead Lake, Bangor Savings Bank, Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union and Wilsons on Moosehead Lake.
