Karen Lovell Chasse

CHASSE, Karen Lovell, 72, Vernon, CT, and Guilford, ME, at Conn., May 2, 2015. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 7, at 10 a.m., at Union Congregational Church, Vernon, CT. Arrangements are under the care of Ladd, Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, Vernon, CT.

PO KarenChasseOB    VERNON, CT & GUILFORD, ME – Karen Lovell Chasse, a long-time resident of Vernon, CT, died Saturday, May 2, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones after a brief struggle with cancer.
    She was born in 1943 and grew up in Guilford, ME, before moving to the central Connecticut area where she married Norman Harold Chasse in 1962 and created her life and family there. She ran the business of her home raising three children as well as helping her husband with aspects of his business. Karen also worked for many years at Rockville General Hospital and has enjoyed several years of her retirement with family and friends. Karen and Harold celebrated 40 years of marriage before his passing in 2002.
    Karen most enjoyed being surrounded by the people she loved, laughing, playing cards, and enjoying the simple pleasures of her life. Known by many as “the sweetest person,” she brought joy to all those around her. Her laughter will be warmly remembered by all who knew her.
    She is survived by her children, Dale, Lisa and Matthew; and grandchildren, Dale Jr. (“Bubbs”), Kristen (“Rosie”), Emily (“Emmy”), Eva, Karen, Ben, and Olivia (“Livie”).
    While all of her family has been saddened by the loss of Karen, they all are grateful for the love, joy, faith and inspiration she brought to their lives.
    Calling hours were held on Tuesday, May 5, from 5-8 p.m., at Ladd, Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home at 551 Talcottville Road, Route 83, Vernon, CT 06066. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 7, at 10 a.m., at Union Congregational Church, 3 Elm Street, Vernon, CT 06066. Memorial gifts can be made in Karen’s name to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. at hospice.com/donations.
