    Several of the area’s high school track and field teams kicked off the 2015 outdoor season over the weekend. The Piscataquis Community High School girls were at Brewer on April 25, and the Pirates came in ninth out of 11 teams with a score of 18 points.
    Junior Haylee Patterson had the highest individual finish as she placed second in the javelin with a throw of 75 feet, 7 inches.

    Freshman Lexi Harris recorded points in three events. She was fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 19.76 seconds and came in sixth in the 800 at 2:59.93. Harris also anchored the fourth-place 4×800 relay team. Juniors Courtney Deane and Cahrey Harris, senior Mariah Priest and Harris combined for a time of 12:47.90.
    Another PCHS point was scored by senior Paige Northup, who placed sixth in the high jump at 4-04.
    The Pirate boys had no score at Brewer. Senior Jeffrey Hoak had the team’s highest individual finish as he came in 19th in the 800 with a time of 2:57.41.

    The Dexter Regional High School track team kicked off its season at Bucksport High School on April 25, with the Tiger girls placing eighth out of nine squads with a score of 13 points.
    Freshman Lily Cummings had a hand in eight of her team’s points. Cummings came in third in the 400 with a time of 1:09.21. She also was sixth in both the 100 and javelin, at 14.90 seconds and at a distance of 63-02.
    Senior Sarah Vigue placed fourth in the javelin at 80-09. She anchored the 4×100 relay team, following sophomores Autumn Nickerson and Cidney Pratt and freshman Hayley Rossman, which finished sixth with a time of 1:03.43.
    The Dexter boys picked up 51 points to place fifth in a field of nine schools.
    Senior Valentin Nekrasov came in second in the 100 with a time of 12.30 seconds and he was fifth in the 200 at 25.03 seconds. The Tiger 4×400 relay had the day’s second-best time as sophomore Brandon Allen, freshman Tyler Beem, junior Zachary Caron and Nekrasov covered the four laps in 3:57.81.
    In the triple jump, Allen finished second with a distance of 37-05 and in third place was Caron at 35-11.75. The Tiger pair were third and fifth in the long jump at respective distances of 18-00.75 and 16-06.50. Caron also tied for third in the high jump by clearing 5-06.
    Sophomore Tanner Hall tied for fourth in the shot put with his throw of 35-02.50. Senior Joseph Hubbell came in sixth in the event at 34-05.75. Hubbell also came in sixth in the discus, throwing the implement 85-04.
