Career and Technical Education Student of the Year chosen at TCTC
DEXTER — Nick Woodward of Dexter has been selected as the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Year at the Tri-County Technical Center (TCTC).
Woodward is a senior who is homeschooled and is completing his second year of training in the Metals Manufacturing Program and his first year in the Commercial Truck Driving Program. He will be one of 27 CTE students honored at a dinner and ceremony at the Lewiston Culinary Arts Center on May 2. This statewide recognition is sponsored by the Maine Administrators of Career and Technical Education. Other CTE students and their families from schools across Maine join him at the event.

Woodward plans to drive a tractor trailer overland after graduation and save money to go to college as a diesel mechanic specializing in heavy equipment. Upon graduating from college, he would like to open his own business in heavy equipment repair and machining located somewhere in Maine.
While at TCTC, Woodward has had perfect attendance for the past two years. He is a quiet young man who definitely has solid plans for his immediate future.
He has the work ethic, dedication and commitment to the skill sets he has earned and has demonstrated excellent work while attending the center.
Woodward has earned the following certification at TCTC: NOCTI Certificate and college credit, Class B Driver’s License, Class A Permit and his Oxygen and Acetylene Safety Certificate.
