Eagles soar to a second-place finish at league finals
DOVER-FOXCROT — SeDoMoCha Middle School hosted the Penquis League wrestling championship on Thursday, March 26. The team finished as league runners-up behind the Ridge View Middle School squad.
SeDoMoCha’s league champions are Rico Ayala, AJ Atkinson, Gage Henderson, Dustin Simmons and Josh Whittemore.
In second place was Kiya Cook, Nathan Weymouth, Jacob Diamond and Jacob Ireland. Finishing third was Josh Tibbetts.
On Saturday, March 28, the Foxcroft Youth Wrestling and SeDoMoCha Middle School teams competed in the Dexter Youth Wrestling Tournament held at the Ridge View Community School — over 300 wrestlers competed at this event.
Foxcroft Youth Wrestling tournament champions were Colby Faloon, Robert Weymouth, Gage Beaudry, Matthew Fillmore and Noah Cavanagh.
In second place was Garrett Rodgers, Kaleb Worthing, Aiden Bryant, Griffin Caruso, Andrew Majewski, Kael Niland, Jacob Stevens, Garret Chase and Skylar Gibbs. Third place: Corey Goodwin, Angel Case, Hayden Hanson, Malcolm Stone, Taylor Bruyette, Wyatt Romero, Nathan Durgin, Nicholas Stewart, Parker Weymouth, Sadie Farmer, Akira Bruyette, Phillip Bagley and Craig Farmer.
SeDoMoCha tourney champs were Nathan Weymouth, AJ Atkinson Gage Henderson and Jacob Diamond — who was named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler.
Kiya Cook came in second, and finishing in third place was Aiden Manning, Dustin Simmons and Jared Atkinson. Fourth-place wrestlers were Josh Tatlock and Josh Tibbetts.
