Skeleton Crew to host herbalist Linda Tisdale

By Beth Ranagan
DEXTER — There are many paths to take on the way to achieving strong bones. Exercise and diet are well-known avenues for increasing bone density. Another way is the ingestion of calcium/mineral rich herbs that can also help in the bone building and maintenance effort.
Linda Tisdale, herbalist, will address this important topic at the Skeleton Crew’s meeting on Friday, May 1 at the Abbot Memorial Library in Dexter at noon.

An herbalist for over 20 years, Tisdale has studied with many nationally-recognized herbalists and, most notably, Maine’s well-known Deb Soule of Avena Botanicals in Rockport.
Linda’s herbal tinctures are made from her own organically-grown medicinal herbs and sell under the name Alchemilla Herbal Apothecary.
During the May 1 meeting, she will tell attendees how herbs along with foods can support a healthy musculoskeletal system and how they can aid in the healing of osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, broken bones, and damaged connective tissues. Specific formulas that she makes for bone support will be shared.
The Skeleton Crew is a support group for those with osteopenia or osteoporosis. Its informational programs are open to anyone interested in improving and maintaining bone health. Bone-healthy refreshments are always served.
