Bess plays freshman season for Stonehill

sp-bessmug-dcX-po-14    EASTON, Mass. — LaGrange resident Isaiah Bess, the son of David and Mary Bess, who played three seasons at Penquis Valley High School before transferring to Hampden Academy, was a freshman guard for the Stonehill College men’s basketball team this past season.

    The 6-foot-3 Bess appeared in 24 games for the Skyhawks, averaging 13.6 minutes per contest. Bess averaged 3.4 points per game, while shooting 31.5 percent from the floor, and he compiled an average of 1.1 rebound per appearance.
    Stonehill finished 2014-15 with an overall record of 19-10, going 14-7 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Skyhawks reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Div. II East Region, and the seventh-seed lost to No. 2 Southern New Hampshire University, 71-59, at Springfield, Mass.
