Celebrate spring with second annual seed swap

DEXTER — The second annual Seed and Scion Swap will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Abbott Memorial Library. The annual program is sponsored by DDATT (Dexter Dover Area Towns in Transition) and the library.

“Why are we buying vegetable seeds and fruit trees that are grown in other states or other countries,?” asks Sam Brown of Cambridge, “Seeds and cuttings from plants acclimated to this area will grow better and likely taste better as well.”
Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite surplus tubers, seeds, cuttings and scions for grafting to the library on Saturday morning. Have a cup of coffee, share gardening stories and pick up some of your neighbor’s treasured eggplant or tomato seeds. Bring something good and leave with something good.
